Empowering Widows
Nigeria has about about 15 million widows, which is 5% of the world’s widows population (258 million)1. High percentage of this populace of widows live below poverty line. Widowhood is a life of struggle, and maltreatment. The widows were often forced into remarriage of another family relative. Some became victims of rape, prostitution, social stigma, physical and psychological abuse. In some cases, their late husbands’ properties were forcefully taken away from them.
Underprivileged Children
The underprivileged children, on the other hand, are children from either the widows, or poor homes These children often drop out of school due to financial difficulties. It was statistically proven that before COVID-19, the population of children who dropped out of school hit 20 million. The number must have increased since after the pandemic and coupled with the recent economic conditions in our country.
Medical Help For The Underprivileged
In a society such as ours, where proper health care and insurance are yet to be established; the underprivileged (the widows, impoverished children, jobless youth and the elderly) with difficulty to either pay their medical bills or find medical help are the most vulnerable groups to become victims.
ROFWOL is positioned to bridge the gap by securing educational scholarships and funds to support the underprivileged. We have helped many children through different levels of formal education, empowered several widows, extended medical treatments to many indigents as well offset medical bills for some with financial difficulties both within and outside Nigeria.
Supporting the Mentally Challenged
We are dedicated to enhancing healthcare access for the underprivileged. Through medical aid, health camps, and medication support, we aim to alleviate the burden of medical expenses and promote well-being. Your support empowers us to make a meaningful impact on the health and lives of those in need.
Supporting 'Charity Days' in Schools and Churches
We contribute gift items and funds to schools and churches during their charity weeks as responsible citizens. This allows them to extend help to underprivileged children beyond our immediate reach. Our accomplishments with limited resources are substantial, yet the potential for more is evident. Your partnership can help us expand our impact further.
